Ultrasonic Cleaning (BLTC) & Welding (BLTW) Transducers or Converters

General Technical Specifications for all single BLT transducers

  1. Design: Sandwich piezoceramic transducer.

  3. Piezoceramic diameters: 35, 38, and 50 mm (for different powers).
  4. Power ranges: From 50 W up to 200 W continuous RMS ultrasonic power (out of this range acceptable on request).
  5. Operating frequencies: From 20 kHz to 60 kHz (other freqencies available on request ).
  6. Multiple frequency operation: All transducer models can also be driven on several resonant frequencies (on natural, lowest resonance, or on several higher harmonics and oscillating modes).
  7. Resonance type:Operating in series or parallel resonance possible (depending on ultrasonic generator and matching).
  8. Mechanical quality factor: Between 700 and 1000, both in the series and parallel resonance (higher upon request).
  9. Front emitting mass: The highest available aircraft grade aluminum.
  10. Back mass: Stainless steel.
  11. Central bolt: The highest available aircraft grade.
  12. Electrodes (modifiable on request): Special nickel alloy - non-corrosive, high thermal and electro conductive alloy (having very low surface friction).
  13. Sealing: External surfaces of piezoceramics are protected against moisture and humidity by silicone coating.
  14. Recommended use (BLTC): Ready for adhesive bonding/bolting fixation to a cleaning tank (modifiable upon request).
  15. Applications (BLTC): Easy applicable for ultrasonic cleaning, liquid processing, and similar applications.

Special Options (BLTC)

  • Any custom design is acceptable, based on different resonant frequency, different geometry, given drawings, given model, different metals, or given description.
  • An optimized copy of any existing transducer can be produced, offering identical or superior performance to the manufacturer's original, and produced in the shortest possible time (between 1 and 3 weeks ready for delivery and mass production).
  • Small orders acceptable.

Example of a custom made cleaning transducer (BLTC)

Characteristics:

  1. fs = 25 kHz (=) series resonant frequency
  2. Cinp (at 1 kHz) = 3.7 nF
  3. Amplitude (peak-to-peak, sinusoidal): up to 10µm (depending on resonant mode, acoustic coupling and loading conditions)
  4. 100 W continuous RMS power when bonded/bolted to the cleaning vessel (fs = constant)
  5. 50 to 75 W continuous RMS in a large frequency sweeping (fs = fso ±10% of fso)
  6. 200 W, maximal (peak) power with sinusoidal (low frequency) amplitude modulation (fs=constant)

Note - For planning and calculation of (technological) cleaning conditions, the continuous operating power of the transducer should be considered as: P = 100W. This is the most conservative approach for the benefit of the end user.

General Technical Specifications for all submersible transducers

  1. Stainless steel: SS-304 and/or SS-316 L
  2. Thickness: 2, 2.5, and 3 mm.
  3. ProtectionAdditional external surface protection (against erosion and cavitation) with hard chromium plating (for SS-304).
  4. Cable: Professionally protected (HF, flexible, stainless steel screened + PTFE).
  5. Power: Average ultrasonic emitting surface power density on the front emitting plate is between 0.5 and 2 Watts per cm2 (upon request)
  6. Active surface: Front emitting surface covered by 30% to 60% by bonded/bolted transducers (depending on requested output power).
  7. Noise: Low acoustical noise emission.
  8. Transducer type: Any transducer type can be installed inside of submersible box
  9. Multiple frequency operation: All submersible transducer models can also be driven on several resonant frequencies (on natural, lowest resonance, on several higher harmonics, as well as in multi frequency, large sweeping mode).
  10. Sweep-mode Power: Calculated (technological) power based on emitting power in a large frequency sweeping.
  11. Tests: All units pressure-tested.

Special Options (Submersible)

  1. Any custom design of submersible transducer is acceptable, whether based on different frequency, different geometry, given drawings, given model, or given description. All dimensions acceptable - specify L x B x H.
  2. An optimized copy of any existing transducer can be produced, offering identical or superior performance to the manufacturer's original, and produced in the shortest possible time (between 1 and 3 weeks ready for delivery and mass production).
  3. Small orders acceptable.

Example of a submersible transducer

Characteristics:

  1. L x B x H = 450 x 305 x 90 mm
  2. Stainless steel: 304 or 316 L, 2.5 mm.
  3. Hard chromium plated, in addition (for SS-304).
  4. Installed 15 pcs. of the transducer
  5. 25 kHz, series operating frequency.
  6. 1500 Watts, continuous emitting RMS power, on a stable (resonant) frequency.
  7. 750 Watts, continuous emitting RMS power, in a large frequency sweeping.
  8. 3000 Watts, maximal (peak) power with sinusoidal amplitude modulation on a stable (resonant) frequency.

For planning and calculation of (technological) cleaning conditions, the continuous operating power should be considered as: P = 750W. This is the most conservative approach, with a large maximal power margin, for the benefit of the end user.
