This brief video shows how liquid metal (aluminum) can be rotated by ultrasonics in addition to degassing, homogenization, crystallization, grain refining. Here water and coffee particles are used to demonstrate the effect in the lab, but in reality liquid metal also rotates during processing. The combination of low frequency mechanical (helix) vibrations (1 kHz and below) with high frequency ultrasonic vibrations (20 kHz plus large-band frequency modulation) gives best results.
